Nutritional Care

Good nutrition and attractive, delicious meals are an essential part of our service. Our Director of Nutritional Services and consulting registered dietician plan meals in accordance with the Canada Food Guide, taking into account individual nutritional and hydration needs, likes and dislikes, religious practices and cultural customs (within our available resources). Special and therapeutic diets are prepared in accordance our registered dietitian.

Our menus are planned on a 3-week rotation with three meals served daily in our dining rooms, and three nutritions snacks provided in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term care guidelines. Alternate selections are available at each meal, and second helpings are always available.

We encourage everyone to come to the dining room for meals where our food services staff work to ensure an enjoyable meal, and our residents benefit from social time with their friends. Family and friends are also welcome to come and enjoy a meal with their loved ones and can do so by purchasing a meal voucher for a small fee.
