FAQs

Q?

What is your nursing staff complement?

A.

We staff according to our funding and levels of care.  The staffing complement can change based on which neighbourhood requires more staff. Sprucedale maximizes its funding and schedules staff accordingly.    We provide a Registered Nurse 24/7, Registered Practical Nurses in each neighbourhood and Personal Support Workers throughout each shift.

Q?

Do you allow smoking in your home?

A.

Sprucedale allows smoking but its only outdoors.  Resident’s are first assessed to determine if they are safe to smoke independently. We offer 3 smoke times per day.

Q?

Can I bring in my own furniture?

A.

Yes. However, please keep in mind that we are limited to what can be brought in. We suggest a TV and stand or a small dresser and chair. Sprucedale strives to ensure that there is enough room, for our residents and staff providing care, to be comfortable.

Q?

Being a new home, does it cost more to live at Sprucedale?

A.

No. Our rates are determined by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Every LTC home in the province of Ontario has the same rate for each accommodation.

Q?

How long is the waiting list?

A.

We are very pleased that many wish to have Sprucedale as their long-term care home. The waiting time depends on the type of accommodation. At present, it could be anywhere from three months to one year. Please contact us for more information.
