Q- How long is the waiting list? A- We are very pleased that many want to have Sprucedale Care Centre as the long-term care home. The waiting time depends on the type of accommodation. At present it could be anywhere from 3 months to 1-year. Q- Being a new home, does it cost more to live at Sprucedale? A– No. Our rates are determined by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Every LTC home in the province of Ontario has the same rate for each accommodation. Q– Can I bring in my own furniture? A– Yes. However, we are limited to what can be brought in. We suggest, a TV and stand or a small dresser and chair. We want to be sure that there is enough room for our residents and staff providing care. Q- Do you allow smoking in your home? A- No we don’t. Sprucedale had decided in 2004 to become a non-smoking LTC home. To meet the Ministry of Health’s obligations we have grand fathered those residents who smoked prior to moving to our new home. They only smoke three times a day and outside of the home. |
